Definistion Procedure Text

      Procedure text is one of language text type inggris or usualy is called as genre showing a process in making or mengoprasikan thing functioning to depict how something done [by] through regular stages;steps. Purpose of procedure text is inform reader way of doing / makes something.

      Generic structure of procedure text :

Ø  Aim/ Field goal

At first part language structure of this Procdeure Text contains information about purpose of in making or pengoprasian something.

Ø  Materials

At part of ke-dua, Materials consisted of material applied in making something. But not all Procedure Text figures in part of materials, sometimes a Procedure Text doesn't have part of materials.

There is three types Procedural Text which is not applies part of materials, that is:

·         Procedural Text explaining how something working or how to do instruction in manual. Its(the example : How to use the video game, the computer, the tape recorder, or the fax, etc.

·         Procedural Text instructing how doing certain activitys with its(the peratura. Its(the example : raod safety rules, or video game rules, etc.

·           Procedural Text is relating to character or man habit. Its(the example How to live happily, or How to secceed.

Ø  Steps

At part of steps, contains about stages;steps or sequences that is must be done that purpose of elaborated at part of Aim/ Goal can be reached. the Stages;Steps or sequences shall massage from last finite first.

      Language Characteristic Procedure Text

There are some language characteristics in Procedure Text, between it is:

• Applies sentence pattern imperative ( Comand), for example, Cut, Don't mix, pl p2 etc.
• Applies action verbs, for example turn, put, doesn't, mix, pl p2 etc.
• Applies connectives ( conjunction) to sort activity, for example then, while, pl p2 etc.

Example :

How to Make Patty Cakes

Ingredients:

·        3 tablespoons of butter

·         ¼ cup castor sugar

·        1 egg

·        ¼ teaspoon of vanill

·        1 cup self-raising flour

·        Pinch salt

·        ¼ cup milk

Methods:

Ø  Beat butter and sugar to cream

Ø  Add lightly beaten egg and vanilla. Beat well.

Ø  Sift flour and salt together

Ø  Fold in dry ingredients alternately with milk. Mix well

Ø  Drop heaped teaspoonfuls of mixture into well-greased patty tins or papers.

Ø  Bake in a moderately hot oven for 10 to 15 minutes

Ø  Cool on a wire rack. Then ice with butter icing

The Procedure of Making Meatballs

ingredients :

·        1 kilo of very fine minced meat (preferably beef)

·        2 eggs

·        300 grams of tapioca-flour

·        4-8 cloves of garlic

·        1 red onion

·        1 teaspoon of white pepper

·        2 teaspoons of salt

Steps :

Ø  First of all,mix garlic, red onion, salt, and white pepper in a mortar or mixer.

Ø  Second step, mix the spice-mixture with the eggs, the tapioca-flour and the minced meat.

Ø  After that, use your fingers, add a cup of water, and keep on working until the mixture feels soft and smooth.

Ø  Then, boil some water in a rather large pot, at least about 2 liters.

Ø  Next step, start rolling the mixture into small meatballs.

Ø  Finally, lower the meatballs into the boiling water. When they float up to the surface the meatball are ready to serve.
